Well, it's been quite a while since I wrote my last post. It's been a whirlwind, crazy, hectic time. But, as promised, I am getting back to blogging. So much has gone on the past 8 months. So, I will just offer some brief highlights and updates on things that have been going on. And, my commitment to you is to offer new blogs every week from dog training and natural pet care, to animal rescue to things more spiritual in nature. Basically, I want to share more of myself and my thoughts with everyone. Anyone who knows me can attest to the fact that I believe our individual personal experiences in life occur so that we can be of more service to others. That's going to be one of my goals in my new blogging here at JeffColtenback.com. Here's some bullets about my past 8 months..
Anyway, this is a brief recap of some of the things that have been going on. Stay tuned as I amp up my presence here at JeffColtenback.com in order to provide you with more of everything!! Thanks for stopping by!! Peace...

- Pitty Rescue, my 501(C)(3) pit bull rescue, has been growing. Our volunteer group is growing by the month. We continue to help dogs and owners through an assortment of issues. We have been looking for folks interested in fostering. So, if you are ready and want to find out more, contact us at [email protected] to apply to become an approved foster home. Help us save more animals!!!
- Paradise Pet, my holistic pet store, in Bloomfield, NJ is in its 12th year. And, I have broadened my horizons by offer distant consultations on natural pet care and behavior. I only charge $35 per half hour. If you are interested in this service just shoot me an email at [email protected] and we can schedule a telephone consult ASAP at your convenience.
- Memphis the pit bull - if you don't know who he is, no worries. I may write a post about him. But, for now, those of you that know about Memphis, please know we are still fighting for him and have not given up. That's about all I can say.
- Relocation - Diana and I have leased a property down in southeast North Carolina. We are not sure of we are going to stay down here permanently. But, one of the reasons we relocated was to try and help out with the animal rescue efforts down here.
- Pitty Rescue South - This is what we refer to our NC efforts as, internally among Pitty Rescue members. IT has been slow going. But, so far, Diana and I have been able to help a handful of dogs in just a couple of short months. We provided free evaluations to a couple of dogs from other organizations. We pulled two dogs out of high kill situations and have fostered them - one is still with us as he needs some training and minor behavior modification. And, another dog was involved in a feud between a government run shelter and the dog's foster parents. This was just the type of situation we find ourselves in far too often. They don't always have happy endings. But, this particular situation did as the foster parents were allowed to permanently adopt the dog.
- Sneak Preview!! I am nearing the final stages of my new dog training certification program. The program will of course involved the usual knowledge base material required for any new dog trainer. But, I will also have a unique and mandatory hands on mentor-ship program. This is a work in progress. But, I will keep you all posted..
- New books - yes I am still writing. I put a goal to have one of my new books done already. But, as life does, other things took priority over them. But, I am still writing. One of my new books has nothing to do with dogs... Go Figure...
